About Mr. KlinkermanWelcome!
I believe that all children have the capability and desire to learn. My goal is to help them learn about the world around them all while developing their potential to become thoughtful, compassionate, and productive human beings. As an instructor, I strive to provide a safe learning environment where students feel challenged and willing to take risks. I incorporate creativity, collaboration, communication and critical-thinking into students' daily routines. This includes using a variety of hands-on activities and problem solving challenges, as well as using technology in a meaningful way. When not at school, I enjoy playing golf, hockey, skiing, traveling, reading, and spending time with my wife and daughter. About the Instructor: I am proud native of Colorado; in fact, I grew up just north of her in Littleton. This will be my 20 something year teaching and my sixteenth at MRMS. I hold B.S. in Psychology - with an emphasis in the social sciences (C.S.U)., a teaching degree (D.U.) and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction - with an emphasis in Literacy (Lesley University). In recent years, I have completed an in-depth course on teaching East Asia (CU Boulder and & the East Asia Institute), attended Well Train's Secondary Physical Fitness Summer Institute, have taken part in the school district's digital educator program as well as have been involved with the district's GVC and GUDA initiatives, plus have served on MRMS's Leadership team and have been the Social Studies Department Chair for eight of the last fifteen years. In addition to teaching Social Studies and Health/PE, I also coach XC and basketball. Contact me at [email protected] |
